BEMPEDOIC ACID+EZETIMIBE
About
BEMPEDOIC ACID+EZETIMIBE is used to lower the levels of bad cholesterol called low-density lipoprotein (LDL), a type of fat in the blood. BEMPEDOIC ACID+EZETIMIBE is given when the other anti-hyperlipidemic medicines like statin (such as simvastatin, a commonly used medicine that treats high cholesterol), bempedoic acid and ezetimibe are not effective in treating your cholesterol (LDL) levels when taken individually. High cholesterol, known as hyperlipidemia or dyslipidemia, occurs when there is an excess of the unhealthy cholesterol balance in the blood.
BEMPEDOIC ACID+EZETIMIBE contains Bempedoic acid and Ezetimibe. Bempedoic acid decreases cholesterol production in the liver and increases the removal of LDL cholesterol from the blood. Ezetimibe works by reducing the cholesterol absorbed in the digestive tract.

Patients Concern
Disease/Condition Glossary
High cholesterol: It is also known as hyperlipidemia or dyslipidemia and occurs when there is an excess of the unhealthy cholesterol balance in the blood. When there is a high level of cholesterol in the blood, your arteries get narrowed and clogged, finally contributing to heart diseases like stroke and heart attack. Eating high-fat or high-cholesterol-containing food/drinks and genetic factors are the primary causes of high cholesterol. There are two types of cholesterol found in our body: good cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein) and bad cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein). Good cholesterol is good for our heart and helps reduce the bad cholesterol in our body. On the other hand, excess bad cholesterol (LDL) leads to the risk of heart diseases like heart attack and stroke.
